An overview of China's main chemical production capacity in 2020

According to data released by the National Development and Reform Commission on February 26, the added value of China's chemical industry in 2020 increase by 3.4% year-on-year, and the growth rate drop by 1.4% year-on-year.


Production summary

1. The output of ethylene was 21.6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.9%

2. The output of primary form plastics was 103.55 million tons, an increase of 7%

3. The output of synthetic rubber was 7.4 million tons, an increase of 0.5%

4. The output of synthetic fiber was 56.34 million tons, an increase of 3.8%

5. The output of caustic soda was 36.43 million tons, an increase of 5.7%

6. The output of soda ash was 28.12 million tons, down 2.9%

7. The output of chemical fertilizer was 53.96 million tons, down 0.9%

      Among them, nitrogen fertilizer increased by 2.7%, phosphate fertilizer decreased by 6.9%, and potassium fertilizer decreased by 7%

8. The output of pesticides was 2.15 million tons, down 1.1%

9. The output of rubber tires was 818.48 million, an increase of 1.7%

10. The output of calcium carbide was 27.92 million tons, an increase of 4.5%

Among the key chemical products monitored, the prices of some products increased in December compared with the previous month.


Price changes in December

1. The average price of caustic soda (caustic soda) was 1930 yuan/ton, down 3.5% from the previous month and 30.3% year-on-year;

2. Soda ash (heavy ash) is 1680 yuan/ton, down 15.2% from the previous month and 1.8% year-on-year;

3. Urea was 1,830 yuan/ton, up 1.7% from the previous month and up 8.9% year-on-year

4. Domestically produced diammonium phosphate is 2,420 yuan/ton, up 2.1% from the previous month and 7.6% year-on-year

5. Calcium carbide is 3960 yuan/ton, up 23% from the previous month and 47.8% year-on-year
