A chemical company in Shanghai urgently coordinated customs to speed up clearance procedures

Shanghai Customs recently received an urgent call from an enterprise for assistance. Shanghai BASF Polyurethane Co., Ltd. is a Sino-German joint venture that mainly produces chemical products such as diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI), toluene diisocyanate (TDI) . Recently, due to the outbreak of the new crown virus pneumonia epidemic, various measures have been taken to delay the resumption of work. Some downstream customers and supporting logistics companies of the company were unable to start work normally due to the delayed resumption of work. The company's planned domestic trade shipments were stranded in storage tanks. Although the company has taken emergency measures to reduce production capacity, due to the special nature of the company's production, the liquid level in the storage tank will almost reach the upper limit.

It is reported that large chemical companies have special production characteristics, and mainly rely on the automated production of large machines. Under normal circumstances, production is not stopped all year round. If the company is forced to stop work, not only will the losses be huge, but it will also create hidden dangers. In a hurry, the company quickly reported to BASF's China and Germany headquarters, and obtained consent to urgently export a batch of toluene diisocyanate (TDI) to Europe to alleviate the inventory pressure caused by the blocked domestic trade. The cargo will be exported in bulk. Due to the urgent time of export, the company sought help from Shanghai Customs, hoping to speed up the customs clearance process and expedite the completion of the export inspection process for this batch of goods.

After Shanghai Customs was informed, it urgently mobilized the backbone of the business, quickly researched and formulated the inspection and supervision plan for the batch of goods, rushed to the company's tank farm for on-site inspection and sampling, and immediately sent the samples to the Shanghai Customs related laboratories for testing. Due to the long period of sample classification and identification, Shanghai Customs communicated with the laboratory again, and the latter performed special services. The identification results were issued on the same day.

In order to solve the export business, this ticket only took one day from declaration to customs release, which solved the urgent needs of enterprises in the epidemic.
