Degradation proceeded rapidly in a Hanford sandy loam, with a half-life of 9 hours; the half-life in a Losthill clay loam was 875 hours(1). In Arlington sandy loam, 68% of the applied dimethylselenide was degraded at 20°C after 18 days; approximately 81% was degraded at 30 and 40°C(2).
